If 2013 saw a series of good performances by B-town actors, it also saw some really noteworthy performances by the actresses. Here’s a list of actresses who we saw this year and you get to decide who 2013 belonged to. Take a look –
Deepika Padukone
An actress who proved her versatility this year with four films that saw her playing four different roles. Better still, she performed each one of them with aplomb! Sexy siren Deepika won hearts with her performances this year and is all set to reach newer heights in her career! With the way she’s going, it won’t be wrong to call her the reigning queen of Bollywood!
Sonam Kapoor
If there’s an actress who is growing with every passing film of hers, it’s Sonam Kapoor. From her Saawariya days to Raanjhanaa, this actress has come a long way in terms of acting. So for all those who thought Sonam was better off being a model might need to rethink that because she’s on the path to prove them wrong!
Vidya Balan
Vidya can potray any given character with ease and we’re convinced about that by now. Ghanchakkar might not have got the best reviews but Vidya’s performance in it did not go unnoticed. Dressed in ridiculous costumes, Vidya played a loud Punjabi and did it extremely well. She’s a dhamaka on screen we absolutely love to watch!
Rani Mukerji
Rani Mukerji might have appeared for only a while in Bombay Talkies but that was enough to leave a lasting impression on our minds. We thought she looked ravishing and was brilliant in the movie. We’re glad Rani’s back because we were really starting to get scared after Aiyya!
Kareena Kapoor
Kareena Kapoor’s role in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein was decent. She played her part well but it was not really out of this world. We’ve seen her in such roles but we’re nominating her this year for the sake of her roles in the past.
Priyanka Chopra
Last year, Priyanka stunned us with Barfi and this year she gave us Zanjeer and Krrish 3. Not really performances she would be proud of. Apart from this, PC came out with her music video and is busy making her mark internationally. 2013 might not be her best year in Bollywood but well, every year can’t belong to her right?
Katrina Kaif
From whatever little we have seen of Dhoom 3, it looks like Katrina Kaif underwent a lot of training for her role in the film. We all know she’s a hardworking actor. Whether it’s learning Hindi or acing acrobats, Katrina always gives in her best shot.
Chitrangada Singh
There’s no doubt when it comes to Chitrangada’s acting skills but this time, she surpassed our expectations with her performance in Inkaar. She exuded glamour and that ‘oomph’ factor that was required for the role. After watching the movie, one feels like her character Maya was made especially for her.
Sonakshi Sinha
We were delighted to see Sonakshi Sinha play Pakhi in Lootera. She beautifully displayed the innocence and beauty her character required which instantly struck a chord with the audience. We hope to see her venture into different roles in future.
Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti played the role of a 'bold' girl in Shuddh Desi Romance and was very convincing. There is something about this Punjabi kudi, we can never get enough of her. Her presence lights up the screen and how!
Nimrat Kaur
Who knew that the Cadbury girl would one day take everyone by surprise with her performance in The Lunchbox. Nimrat Kaur excelled in movie and looked perfectly cut for it. A thorough natural, we can't wait to see her next!
Kalki Koechlin
Kalki has always managed to surprise us with her performances. Just when we think we’ve seen her best, she goes ahead and proves us wrong. This year, we saw Kalki in Yeh Jawani Hain Diwani and Ek Thi Daayan. While her role in YJHD was unlike the roles she has done so far, it was her role in Ek Thi Daayan that definitely deserves a mention. She manages to bag some really interesting roles, must say!
Mahi Gill
She might not always be in the limelight but hats off to her for opting for offbeat films. Mahi was seen playing a bold character in Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns, this year. Her acting is such that one can never ignore her presence in any movie because she always manages to shine.
Who’s your favourite? Take your pick.
