First came the news of Shahrukh Khan inviting rapper Honey Singh to compose a very special item song for his film 'Chennai Express'. The number was said to be a tribute to south superstar Rajnikanth. However, this move had not gone down well with composers Vishal-Shekhar who have composed the rest of the songs in this eagerly-awaited film.
At that point Honey Singh had commented, "What can I do? If Shah Rukh Bhai asked me to do a song I couldn’t refuse.I am just doing my job to the best of my abilities.I can tell you this much. When the song comes out it will be a craze among not just Shah Rukh and my fans, but also among Rajni Sir’s fans".
Later though, came the news of these reports being false. Vishal Dadlani had then tweeted, "It's hilarious and pathetic, how desperately this tacky rape-rapper is trying to ride on the fame of @iamsrk and #ChennaiExpress. Poor guy."
The new twist in the tale is that Honey Singh might be doing the number after all. Buzz is that the song will be the theme song of the film and will be called 'Lungi Dance'. Apparently Honey Singh has been closely working with SRK on this number. News has it that Vishal-Shekhar are yet unaware of this development.
As per our sources, the song is written, sung and composed by Honey Singh. Honey has previously worked for Cocktail and Khiladi 786, for which he received a good response.
