It’s official. Kamal Amrohi’s grandson Bilal Amrohi and Kumar Gaurav’s daughter Saachi are all set to tie the knot next year.
In fact Bilal who is about to make his screen debut in O Teri has bought a home where he intends to live with his bride when they marry.
Divulging all the details Bilal’s doting father Tajdar Amrohi says, “Yes, Bilal has bought his home where he will live with Saachi after they get married.It’s the way it should be. Bilal has been with me and my wife Neelu all his life. Ek pal humne Bilal ya usske bhai Mashoor ko apne se judaa nahin kiya.After marriage it’s important for a couple to have an independent life.But Bilal and Saachi will be very close to us after their wedding. In fact Saachi has been close to my family for many years. Her father’s bunglow is very close to our home. So we’’ve been neighbours for years.”
The merger of the Amrohi and Dutt-Kumar families will happen early next year.
Tajdar showers praise on his future daughter-in-law. “She is one of the most beautiful girls in the industry, prettier than most of the heroines. She could have easily been one of the top heroines of our cinema. But Saachi has chosen to be away from showbiz. Aur maze ki baat yeh hai ki Saachi ki seerat utni hi khubsoorat hai jitni uski soorat(her soul is as beautiful as her face). Saachi cares for me and my wife like our own daughter.”
Kumar Gaurav and Namrata Dutt’s elder daughter is a regular visitor at the Amrohis.
Says her proud father-in-law-to-be, “Saachi is a very caring girl .She visits us and looks out for us like our own child. And she knows I am a foodie, so she brings home something or the other for me from one of my favourite eateries.”
Since Saachi is so media-shy didn’t she react adversely to Bilal’s public declaration of their relationship?
Bilal’s father rises to his defence. “Not at all. In fact I am very proud of Bilal for introducing his life-companion to the public before entering the entertainment industry. In our family we don not hide our women. We are very proud of Bilal’s choice of a life partner.And we’re looking forward to their marriage.”
Tajdar sees it as a coming-together of two distinguished families . “Saachi is Sanjay Dutt’s sister’s daughter and Rajendra Kumar’s daughter-in-law. Sanjay Dutt’s parents Sunil Dutt Saab and Nargisji, and Rajendra Kumar Saab all acted together in one of India’s most beloved films Mother India. My son Bilal’s grandfather Kamal Amrrohi made Pakeezah. So this marriage is a merger of two distinguished families. We are looking forward to an early wedding. And I am looking forward to my grandchildren. By God’s grace Bilal and Saachi are so good-looking. Their children would be adorable.”
