Kareena Kapoor, who features in the cover page of the latest Filmfare issue, opens up to Jitesh Pillaai about life post marriage. In this heart-to-heart rendezvous Bebo talks about her hubby Saif, and the change that he and marriage have brought about in her.
When asked if she had been asked to behave like a daughter-n-law at the palace
"No, Right now, Saif has taken the palace back. When I am with the family, I am treated like a daughter. Sharmilaji treats me like a daughter. We are not in the 1900s. We don't live like traditional saas bahus. We just went to the Maldives for a holiday where I wore a bikini in front of my mother-in-law. It's normal. I don't understand why it's such a big thing. I would do the same with my mother."
When asked about her relationship with Saif's kids
"I always maintain it as though we are friends because they have a wonderful mother, who has done a splendid job in bringing them up. Sarah has got admission in the Columbia University. Few girls get the opportunity to study there. There are many scholars in his family. Saif encourages education. I'm happy for the kids. I never had this kind of an opportunity. My advice to her was, you can act anytime. But an opportunity to go to Columbia and live in New York on your own will not come again. What I have realised is there there's much more to life than constantly trying to bag a film."
