Salman Khan, born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan, is all set to cross 25 years in Indian Cinema this week as his debut film 'Biwi Ho To Aisi' released on 26th August 1988. Though Salman debuted in 'Biwi Ho To Aisi', the first role of his that gained him recognition, and won him the plush 'Filmfare Debut Award' was 'Maine Pyaar Kiya'. And since then, there was no looking back, 25 Years later, we can now look back at the legacy that is Salman Khan.

While Maine Pyaar Kiya was one of the highest grossing films of its time, Salmans career has been full of hits over the years, and the lull he faced from 2005-2009, did no damage, nor stopped him from owning the 100 crore club. Salman Khan has also been a succesful Television host, by hosting 'Dus Ka Dum' and Big Boss from seasons 4- 7.
Being Human
Though many celebrities don't use their power for any good, Salman Khan opened up an NGO called 'Being Human' that supports the underpriveleged. The Foundation has two focus areas: Education and Healthcare. He also opened up divisions like Being Human Film Productions, which helps to Fund Being Human. He has also produced the acclaimed and succesful 'Chillar Party'

Though Salman has never married he has been linked to a bevy of beauties, with the significant relationships being Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Somy Ali and Katrina Kaif. Khan has remained close to his family - which includes Arbaaz & Malaika Arora Khan, Sohail Khan, Salim Khan, Alvira and Arpita Khan and iconic stepmother, Helen.

Though Salman has been accused on many occasions of not being able to act, his early career had several performances that won him accolades.
